At JCG Surveyors, a single complex claim could stay active for years, accumulating layers of survey activity, expenses, expert reviews, and billing records that teams needed to retrieve quickly and trust completely.

Intelegain built a custom Power Apps model-driven application and deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central alongside it, natively integrating both so claims data flows into billing and reporting through a unified claims-to-finance foundation.

Results at a glance: Claim registration became 2X faster. More than 100 users migrated to a connected Microsoft-native platform. Claims and financial data now enter through a single source, and finance teams can reconcile expenses and billing without manually checking disconnected systems.

The JCG Transformation Story

Insurance claims investigation runs on trust, and few firms in India have built as strong a reputation for it as JCG Surveyors. Founded in 1984 by Mr. J. C. Gupta as J.C. Gupta & Co. ISLA Pvt. Ltd., the company has spent more than 42 years establishing itself as one of India’s leading loss adjuster firms, handling loss adjusting, claims management, valuations, and risk inspections from its head office in Mumbai, a regional office in Delhi, and a presence at major locations across the country.

When a policyholder files a claim, insurers rarely investigate it themselves. That work goes to an independent surveyor, someone who gets on the ground, verifies the facts, and reports back with findings the insurer can act on. It’s exactly the work JCG has built its business around, and many of the claims it handles are anything but simple, often remaining active for years depending on the nature, severity, and quantum of the loss.

Running that kind of long-duration, high-complexity claims business on the right systems matters more than most industries realize.

A Business Outgrowing Its Own Systems

JCG’s claims operation involved several stages before a case was closed: claim creation, surveyor assignment, one or more rounds of on-ground survey, and, for complex cases, escalation to an outsourced expert reviewer. Everything eventually fed into a Final Survey Report, the document insurers rely on to determine payout.

Behind that process sat a local portal for claims tracking and Tally for accounting, two systems that didn’t talk to each other. For claims that stayed open for years, that gap became a real operational burden. Expenses, outsourced expert costs, and billing information all needed to be retrieved and reconciled at various points for processing, reporting, and invoicing, and doing that across two disconnected systems was consistently time-consuming.

Data reliability was another quiet cost. With claim and expense details entered separately across systems, the business regularly found itself sorting data and double-checking its authenticity rather than trusting it outright.

Choosing Speed and Fit Over a Ground-Up Build

JCG weighed its options against a few practical constraints. A fully custom-built application, developed the traditional way, was going to take six-plus months, a timeline the business wasn’t willing to accept. JCG’s claims process was too specialized to be forced into a generic CRM, and too important to be slowed down by a long custom build.

Before the claims transformation could take shape, Intelegain first helped JCG address the productivity foundation that was holding the business back. JCG moved from a non-Microsoft productivity platform to Microsoft 365, creating a connected digital backbone where Business Central supported advanced billing, Microsoft Teams became the hub for daily communication and collaboration, and SharePoint brought structure to data and document management. This gave JCG the first step toward digital transformation while improving end-to-end productivity across employees.

That combination pointed toward Intelegain and a low-code approach built on Microsoft Power Apps, paired with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the financial backbone.

Building Two Systems That Were Designed to Work as One

Intelegain built a Power Apps model-driven application from scratch, structured around JCG’s actual claim lifecycle rather than adapted from a generic template. It covers claim creation and surveyor assignment, multi-stage survey tracking through however many rounds a case needs, expert review escalation, and Final Survey Report generation.

Alongside it, Intelegain deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as JCG’s ERP and accounting system, replacing Tally and rolling out at the same time as the claims application rather than being layered on afterward.

A native integration between the two means claims data now flows directly into Business Central’s billing and expense modules, removing the manual back-and-forth that used to slow down reconciliation and reporting on long-running cases.

One System, Faster Answers, Fewer Errors

With both systems live and connected, JCG’s day-to-day operations look noticeably different. Claim registration is markedly quicker, with the intimation team processing new claims in a fraction of the time it used to take. Departments are no longer dependent on each other just to pull claim data, outsourced expert costs, or expense details, since finance and operations now work off the same information.

Because data enters the system once instead of being keyed separately across two platforms, there’s no duplication and far less room for manual error, giving JCG more reliable data to base decisions on. Business Central’s multi-level dimension feature also let JCG set up separate expense record-keeping by state and manage multiple locations through ship-to dimensions under a single entity and ledger, a level of structure the previous setup couldn’t offer.

More than 100 users, claim managers, claim handlers, and MIS staff, now run claim intake, survey tracking, expense reconciliation, and reporting on one connected, Microsoft-native platform. JCG continues to monitor turnaround times and regulatory compliance closely, and as the team gets deeper into the platform, it’s actively exploring additional Dynamics 365 capabilities to support long-term growth and service quality.
